RICHARD L. YOUNG, 84, of Kennett Square, PA, passed away on February 8, 2006 at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. He was the husband of the late Margaret Regester Young, who passed away in 1987 and with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.

Born in Kennett Square, he was the son of the late Havard B.Young and the late Hazel R. Larkin Young.

Richard served as a machinist first class in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was bricklayer for Lukens Steel, retiring in 1983.

Richard was an avid roller skater and competed in and judged competitions until his early 80's. He also enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake Bay and woodworking, carving decoys and model ships.

He is survived by:

Two Sons: Joseph R. Young of West Grove, PA Philip Young of Nashua, NH

Two Daughters: Barbara Kendzierski of Newark, DE Mary Lou Tabo of Elkton, MD

Eight Grandchildren
Three Great Grandchildren

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, February 13, 2006 at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State St., Kennett Square, PA. Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 AM on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Union Hill Cemetery. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, P.O. Box 636, St. Michaels, MD 21663.
